Use of lead-acid batteries for UPS

UPS is an uninterruptible power supply, and the main purpose of the UPS lead-acid battery is to serve as a backup power supply to ensure that the UPS can continue to provide a stable power supply to the load in the case of a mains interruption or other power failure. The main uses of UPS lead-acid batteries include storing electrical energy, acting as a backup power supply, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, maintaining UPS power output, smoothing filtering, and acting as a buffer to stabilize voltage. Therefore, the UPS lead-acid battery plays an important role in the UPS power supply system to store electrical energy, ensure uninterrupted power supply, stable voltage supply and provide backup power. It provides a reliable power guarantee for a variety of critical applications, ensuring the normal operation of equipment and data security.

From the technical principle of the lead-acid battery, the lead-acid battery is a battery whose electrode is mainly made of lead and its oxide, and the electrolyte is a sulfuric acid solution. It is a secondary battery, and it is also a common rechargeable battery and rechargeable battery, which can be charged and discharged repeatedly. In the discharge state of lead-acid battery, the main component of the positive electrode is lead dioxide, and the main component of the negative electrode is lead. In the charging state, the main components of the positive and negative electrodes are lead sulfate. The nominal voltage of a single cell lead-acid battery is 2.0V, can discharge to 1.5V, can charge to 2.4V. In practical applications, 6 single-cell lead-acid batteries are often connected in series to form a nominal lead-acid battery of 12V, as well as 24V, 36V, 48V and so on.

UPS lead-acid battery usage and function:

& have spent       1, Storage of electrical energy : The main function of the lead-acid battery is to store electrical energy. When the mains power supply is normal, the battery will store electrical energy in the rectification and charging circuit to prepare for possible power failures, it can be said that the lead-acid battery plays the role of storing electrical energy in the UPS system.

2, Ensure uninterruptible power supply : When the mains interruption or other power failure occurs, the lead-acid battery will quickly discharge, and through the UPS inverter to release the battery direct current into sine alternating current, so as to maintain the UPS power output. In this way, it ensures that the load equipment remains accessible and a stable power supply acts as a buffer during power failures, avoiding the risk of equipment outages and data loss.

3, Stable voltage supply : in the normal power supply of the mains, the lead-acid battery also plays the role of stable voltage supply. It helps the UPS to provide stable voltage to the load device in the case of voltage fluctuations or interference, to ensure the normal operation of the device, through the UPS inverter to release the direct current from the battery into sinusoidal alternating current, so as to maintain the UPS power output, to ensure that the load in a certain period of time.

4, Provide backup power : As the backup power supply of the UPS system, the lead-acid battery can provide power when the mains is interrupted to ensure that the load equipment will not stop working due to power interruption. This is critical for many critical applications, such as data centers, medical devices, and communication systems.

Of course, lead-acid batteries have other applications in UPS systems, such as solar and wind energy storage fields, agriculture and so on. It should be noted that lead-acid batteries are a chemical, and their use and disposal need to follow the relevant safety regulations and environmental requirements to prevent negative impacts on the environment. In general, lead-acid batteries play a vital role in UPS systems and are one of the key equipment to ensure the stability and reliability of power supply.

From the point of view of the lead-acid battery itself, because of its strong current discharge performance, stable voltage characteristics, wide range of temperature application, large single battery capacity, high safety and rich raw materials and renewable utilization, low price and a series of advantages, it is widely used in automobiles, motorcycle engines, as well as communication base stations, energy storage systems and other fields. The lead-acid battery has a history of more than 150 years since it was invented by Plante in 1859, and the technology is very mature, and it is the most widely used chemical power supply in the world. In recent years, although new batteries such as nickel-cadmium batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, and lithium-ion batteries have been introduced and applied, lead-acid batteries, with their unique advantages, still occupy a firm position in most traditional fields and some emerging application fields.
